Well, shit.
All through the spring and summer I had been doing maintenance training for a simple half marathon, but then two weeks ago I went and injured my right foot.
As I was out for a test run this morning I started running through an inventory of all my past injuries. There I was, hobbling along through the dewy morning asphalt and damned if I could parse out much of it. Sure, I mean after all I was honed in on my foot injury and trying to gauge if I was ready to crank the distance back up later this weekend or start looking for someone to foist my bib onto, but you’d think I’d be able to remember all my past aches and pains.
“I need to write more of this down.” I thought to myself.
Now I make websites for a living, and I write for a long list of semi-professional reasons, so you might imagine how this struck me as blindingly obvious.
And it doesn’t take a genius to figure out why a few hours later I’m sitting at my laptop typing out an introduction and hatching a vague plan for a regular blog on my past, present, and future running adventures.
Stay tuned.
