One of those tactics of race prep that tends to fall by the wayside is figuring out what fuels you in the day before a race.

I only left the GoPro at home because I started pondering just how much I realistically wanted to carry through a race...

I appreciate the support. I really do. But, I’m a toil in obscurity kind of guy.

Reading a bunch of my old posts I was just excited about being there, doing it, participating.


Then, race morning I woke up and stepped out of bed at around 5am and I felt it.

My distance read 22.05 km. That’s nearly 950 meters long. Basically, an extra kilometre.

Let’s get a bit philosophical about running for a sec and let me ask you a question: what is a race?

Maybe because of my soaked state the woman in front of me started making conversation...
