defintion: gatekeep

I hate to write it, but there are a lot of folks who slam the door behind themselves when it comes to achievement in sport: “Running” is the speed that I run. My pace is the best pace. My preferred distance is the only distance. Gatekeepers are in every hobby, of course, but standing on a finish line being told you’ve not measured up is particularly sinister.
